Download Threads photos and videos
Paste a public Threads post link and save the photo or video it contains, straight from Meta's own file.
Threads runs on the same infrastructure as Instagram
Threads is built and hosted by Meta, sharing Instagram's CDN and much of its backend, so a public Threads post exposes the same kind of metadata a public Instagram post does — including a direct link to the original photo or video file.
This tool reads that metadata directly from the post page rather than screen-recording or re-encoding anything, so the file you get is the same one Meta serves inside the Threads app.
Text-only threads with no attached media have nothing to resolve — this only applies to posts with a photo or video attached.
How it works
- 1
Copy the post link
Tap the ••• menu on any public thread and choose Copy link.
- 2
Paste it above
The username and post id resolve straight to the underlying media file.
- 3
Download the file
Video threads save as MP4, photo threads save at the resolution Meta stored.
FAQ
Does this work on private accounts?
No — only threads a logged-out visitor could already see. Private-account posts are not accessible.
What about threads with multiple photos?
The first attached image or video resolves; a multi-image carousel thread is not currently walked slide by slide the way Instagram carousels are.
Why did a video thread fail to resolve?
Meta does not always expose a direct video link to logged-out requests — this is a known limitation shared with some Instagram Reels.
