Save Instagram Stories before they expire
Stories vanish after 24 hours. Paste the story link from an account you follow and save the photo or video permanently.
Stories need a real account behind the request — here is why
A story is not public data the way a feed post is. Instagram only serves story media to a session that can already view it — the same rule that applies inside the app applies here. There is no technique that lets a tool see a story your own account could not already open.
What this tool adds is persistence: once the server has an authenticated session configured, it can fetch a story's original file and hand it back as a permanent download, instead of a payload that Instagram deletes from its servers a day later.
Both photo and video stories resolve, including multi-frame stories — each frame downloads as its own file rather than a single merged clip, so you keep every frame at full resolution.
How it works
- 1
Open the story
Tap the account's ring on Instagram to view the story, then use the share icon → Copy link.
- 2
Paste it above
The username and story id resolve straight to the underlying media — no need to screen-record.
- 3
Save before it expires
Photo stories save as JPG, video stories as MP4, both at the original resolution Instagram stored.
FAQ
Can this see stories from accounts I don't follow?
No. If your account cannot open the story in the Instagram app, it cannot be resolved here either — permissions are identical.
What happens after 24 hours?
Once Instagram deletes a story from its servers, no tool can recover it — this only works while the story is still live.
Do highlights work the same way?
Highlights are stored differently and are not currently supported — only active 24-hour stories.
